Starving Pelicans

A wonderful bird is the pelican,

His bill will hold more than his belican.

He can take in his beak

Food enough for a week,

But I'll be damned

if I see how the helican.

Above, a California Brown pelican flies parallel to our ship of flowers. While in Santa Cruz this week, we discovered that this wondrous bird is having its share of problems surviving. They are a joy to watch cruse over like silent 737s, so we are happy to hear that Californians are working on the problem.
