It's a rare day when the Oregon Coast disappoints us. The last couple of days were no exception. My Valentine and I enjoyed a fire place room with an ocean view, supper with long time friends, casino time, the beach, wine and I am guessing perhaps #11 on the daughter's blog.I'm at my brother's since while I have a new computer at home, I am switching internet connections and haven't got the new carrier up and running. B always listens to Rush and it is really amusing to hear Rush bluster about the coverage of Cheney's shooting. If a Clinton had been involved, Rush would be leading the lynch mob.
Depoe Bay was as shuttered up as I have seen it. I would guess that the gift shop and restaurant businesses are tough any time of the year. This winter lots of shops are closed. Some are on vacation, others perhaps are closed for good. The sea was rough and there were no whales to watch, so there was no traffic in and out of the harbor. Even the Spouting Horn Restaurant is closed on Tuesdays in winter. Nature's spouting horn, however, delighted us all. The Oregon Coast with my Valentine on Valentine's Day, --hard to beat!
