There are Rules: 1. If we can't afford a real Christmas tree, we don't need one.
2. The better trees are out at the growers, not at the tree lots in town.
3. The best trees are at the far end of the field. (After all, there are no fish at the boat landing. It's been fished out.)
4. It will be necessary to cut down the tree.
5. If it won't fit into the trunk of a Buick, we don't need it.
6. If it fits into the stand on the first try, look around for the rapture.
7. Like the family it graces, it must always be just a little less than perfect.
Did I forget anything?
