Empty Yuma, Arizona in the summer
I admit it, I'm hooked on My Yahoo's Weather reporting.
Don't get me wrong. There's way too much weather news on TV. I seriously doubt that anyone cares that much about cold front and warm fronts. Just tell us: Is it going to rain today or not? I've sure that tv weather reports are cheap to produce. And they mask the fact that there isn't really much news each day. At least reportable news. So news programs just endlessly report the same thing over and over and over and over all day long. Otherwise, there wouldn't be anything report at all, and how would they give us all those commercials?
But My Yahoo is different. I get up in the morning and chick on My Yahoo. I have a column devoted to the weather in cities where I've been. I take a perverse pleasure in knowing it is going to be 117 in Yuma today and 115 in Las Vegas. And I get just as excited by cold weather in the winter. I love to know how far below zero it is in Montana and Minnesota in the depths of December.
Move over, Paris. I'm living the simple life.
