The Dog Days of Summer Starring Brother Bob

What do these pictures have in common? Well, each segment contains a boy and a dog. The boy is my brother Bob at various stages in growing up. Each time, it’s a different dog. And I am guessing that all of the pictures were taken during summer. Very possibly, they were taken during the Dog Days of Summer.

Well, if you do a Google search, you’ll discover that we are now in the Dog Days of Summer. They started July 3rd. I was suspicious because I’ve had a good old summer cold. Ache all over, nose won't stop running, can't do anything without sweating up a storm. The starter in the 92 Buick is acting up, and the air conditioner won’t produce the volume of cold air that makes a person comfortable. Chain saw plugs up. etc. etc. The heat and lack of a neat holiday or vacation time close by makes people irritable. They write and send letters they might regret in cooler times. Don't worry, though. In this case, it is both the heat and the humidity.
