Good Friday Musings.......

Good Friday activties involved a trip to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm Tulips are very early this year. Often they don't bloom in Oregon until May. I don't think I could add to the quality or quanity of pictures that G took last year, but I did take a few, like the one transformed into the greeting above.

Evening worship was a bit startling because just as we were about to disembark Bob from the Buick the fire truck and ambulance arrived at Church! There was a man down in the chancel, -- a man we know to be troubled, gay, perhaps homeless. We've seen him begging on street corners and sleeping soundly in the library. They took him to the hospital emergency room. At first, you might think that would be a good thing, but to go there without an advocate would not be good. I am sure that our pastor will see to his needs as will our choir. He has, for all his troubles, sung in the choir for years.

Have you ever thought how different the United States might be if President Lincoln had decided to go to church that fateful Good Friday evening in 1865, instead of Ford Theatre?
