Cary Grant, Napoleon Dynamite and Me

Cary Grant was on AMC again this noon in "An Affair to Remember". There can be no doubt that Cary was Mr. Cool. His looks, his voice, his way of moving; --who wouldn't want to be like that?. And of course, the movie is set in the warm and beautiful Mediterranean with Deborah Kerr. As Paris Hilton would say, "hot, hot, hot." Well, we watched the third in the series of movies from the daughter: Napoleon Dynamite. It's the story of complete Nerds. Filmed in Idaho, the characters in this movie are quirky and the screwy antics of the characters are deadpan, and absurd. Movies offer us the opportunity to look at the characters and say, maybe "hot, but not me." Or "rot, but not me, either." I've got my own life, sometimes with a little bit of heaven, sometimes with a little bit of Idaho.
