As Time Goes By......
I've been thinking a lot about time this past year. Perhaps it's because I'll be 70 years old this month. Time has been the theme of several books I've read this past year. In The New Ruthless Economy: Work and Power in the Digital Age Simon Head discusses Frederick Taylor, the father of time - motion studies, those research is again being used in the digital age to get the last ounce of sweat out of workers. Carl Honore, In Praise of Slowness: How a Worldwide Movement is Challenging the Cult of Speed notes “Nevertheless, from early on, telling time went hand in hand with telling people what to do.” He advocates the advantages of the slow approach from food to sex. I'm currently reading Time Wars: The Primary Conflict in Human History by Jeremy Rifken.
Time is one of those mysterious things, the essence of life. What time is it? Check http://www.time.gov/ for the official answer. But time consists of memories, opportunties, pleasures planned and enjoyed. How many expressions using the word "time" can you think of? Why not share them in the comments section, that is, if you have time on your hands.

One thing I've noticed about time is that enjoyable times go by so much quicker than painful times.
