My Dad and Guns...
I found this treasure while looking for the Shifting Whispering Sands. Walter Brennan tells the story of Shep. Shep grows old and Walter has to take a gun out and put him to rest. I once asked Uncle Hank about my Dad and guns. Yes, Dad had a gun, once. He had to take a gun and go out and shoot his poor old dog. That was the last gun he ever touched.
I asked Dad about that story once and I embarrassed him. Perhaps he didn't know I regarded it as a strength, not a weakness. Well, if you belong to Rhapsody or iTunes, give a listen to "Shep", and give a thought to my Dad. May he rest in peace..
