Lightning Strikes Twice

On our brief trip through Washington State we stopped at two casinos. We were treated really well at the one in Topponish, Washington, just south of Yakima. By signing up for their player's club we got two free buffet meals and two free t shirts.

We never spend much at casinos. I think we spent less than $10.

This casino does its best to employ Native Americans.

We also stopped at the casino in Tacoma. Busy place, but nothing free and it was dingy.

Yesterday, we stopped by Spirit Mountain. They have the other two casinos beat by many a mile. In contrast to other casinos we've seen, Spirit Mountain provides lots of new machines with interesting graphics. Last year, they had a Deal or No Deal set of machines, but they must have lost money on them and took them out. Now, however, they have a set of Wizard of Oz machines and the graphics are the best I have seen on a gaming device. They also have a series of Western Roundup machines that are fun to play. I came home up about $15.

Busy as we were on Saturday, our microwave oven died. We only had this one a short time. However, for the most part, microwaves are unfix able. I don't fill in guarantee cards because it isn't worth it on most items. I also learned that the company sells what ever information you send in, making you a target for identity theft. A thought we should rake leaves before anything else and in the process I discovered I was using the box the microwave came in to pick up debris. The box had all kinds of Walmart stickers on it. I looked through my credit card bills and found one where I bought something at Walmart for $106.00. We packed up the defunct item and headed to the store. Lo and behold, they honored our request we and went home with a new microwave and a $10 gift card.
So, I guess for me, lightning can strike twice in one day! It's a good thing.
