A Place to Invest Your Money

Last night, David Letterman hosted the Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, Josette Sheeran. The World Food Programme is working together with George McGovern and Robert Dole to see that school children around the world get one good meal a day. They are focusing on school children because education has a potential of lifting people out of poverty. Without basic reading and math skills, one cannot read directions, or make change and other basic tasks. Feeding anyone who is hungry is a noble task, but feeding hungry children also makes learning possible.

1.5 billion people live on less than a dollar a day. Over 800 million, many of them women and children, go to bed hungry every night. We can stop this if we want to. You can do your part by contributing to the World Hunger Programme.
