Ahmadinejad and the Bomb

Ahmadinejad says he is not building a nuclear weapon. What good would a nuclear weapon do him? It would cost a fortune to produce and he couldn't use it anywhere. Can you imagine Iran dropping a nuke on Israel? Iran would be wiped off the face of the earth. Weapons grade nuclear material is a natural byproduct of making electricity. France is producing lots of it.

The Iranian nuclear program is a useful tool of the Bush Administration, however. Bush was sure Saddam had them and we will be paying the cost of that misjudgement forever.

Who is smarter? Ahmadinejad or Bush?

Why even buy your nuclear material at all? The United States has littered Iraq and Afghanistan with tons of depleted Uranium that could be enriched again to make weapons.

In fact, the military has used so much Uranium during the past several years that there is a shortage. The price of Uranium is now up to $137/pound.

It is so profitably that a company from Canada wants to mine it less than ten miles from our house.

Needless to say, we are not thrilled by that possibility.
