What's the average age of a homeless person in Salem Oregon? A brought that question home from a Conference she attended today at the Salem Convention Center.
My first guess was 50+. You know, the down and outers you see holding cardboard signs along the roadside. No. Too high.
Well, then, how about 28? You know, the shiftless drops who can't hold a job. No. Still too still high.
How about 17? I'm grasping at straws at this point. No. Still too high.
The average age of a homeless person in Salem Oregon is nine years old! How are we in God's name going to blame fourth graders for being homeless?
In this Thanksgiving Day month, in God's name we've got to roll up our sleeves. There's a lot of work to do.
