Bed Raising

You may remember my mentioning my date with the Sleep Disorders Center. Today I received the results of the sleep lab tests. My night there revealed an oxygen level 80 to 89% while asleep while it should be 90% or more. Some sleep states are better than others I gather, as well. Sleep Disorders Centers love to use Cpap machines. However, my level of difficulty does not warrant Medicare paying for the same. (At this point, I reminded the Doctor that complaint which brought me there was insomnia, not my oxygen level.)

Since Medicare won't pay, and I probably wouldn't go that route if they did, the next best thing is to loose weight and elevate the front of the bed six inches. That's a lot of elevating as you can see by the picture.

Wednesday I will finally get to meet their insomnia expert. Having slept little last night, I am ready! Also upcoming; a date with the dietitian. Any thoughts? Be sure to share them. Thanks.
