Tomorrow we attend a memorial service for our dear sister-in-law.
Today's lessons for the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost were very instructive.
The first lesson is the story of the Fall, Genesis 3:8-15.
The second lesson 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1 concludes: "For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."
The Gospel might also be spoken as a a tribute: "Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
Let us go in peace, having found comfort in the promises of God.
