Rick Adelman

It's doubtful that you've ever heard of Chemeketa Community College if you live outside Oregon. They're not in a league with state universities or power houses like Portland State or Boise State. But it was at Chemeketa that Rick Adelman spent his first six years as a basketball coach. He went on to coach some powerful Portland Trailblazer teams, only to fall short at the hands of Michael Jordan. Ultimately, the Blazers fired him and have gone through a series of less successful coaches until the present coach Nate Mcmillan.
Tonight, the Houston Rockets come to the Rose Garden. Lots of thought has gone into Yao Ming, the 7'6" Houston center. But I'm wondering what will be going through the mind of Rick Adelman, returning to play an organization that fired him.
Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping for a Blazer victory. I've come to really enjoy this year's team. But if Adelman were to win, there would be a certain poetic justice to it.
