Open Letter to iTunes

Salem Oregon bridges two counties, Polk and Marion. Your not knowing this cost me four hours of time and great frustration. Not using the telephone to help people with problems you create is also not helpful. How this happened: G gave me an iTunes gift card. To use the gift card, one needs an iTunes account. To get an iTunes account, one needs to give credit card information. This includes giving them your address. In doing so, I am greeted by a pop up screen asks the name of the county. Living in a part of Salem which is over the river, I enter Polk county. Rejected. I get a message saying "It does not appear that you have a US post office recognized address. Please re-enter address." What address? I only have one address, the place where I live. I have lived at this address for over ten years. I have used official post office address recognition software in my business. I know what a US post office address format looks like. Just to be sure, I consult any number of mail pieces I have received at this address. I enter the address information over and over again with the same frustrating results. "It does not appear that you have a US post office recognized address. Please re-enter address" So I wish to discuss this over the telephone with their customer service department. They don't have one. Working through layers of prompts about problems I don't have, I find a place where I can email the problem to them. Their answer: they will get back to me in 72 hours. We'll see.
