Yellowstone Falls

It's fun to compare pictures I've taken of the same site over the years. And with the magic of scanners and editing programs, I can blend what I see. I once took pictures with a 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 double reflex camera and developed both film and prints myself. I thought that this would allow me the opportunity to do some creative editing. The picture on the lower left is a scan of an 8 x 10 I did in that format back in 1977. That format was time consuming and was getting dated. So I abandoned it. For a while, all we had was a Color Pollaroid. The picture on the lower right was taken that way in 1984. But I learned that they fade over time. So I moved on to 35 mm. I guess I didn't visit the site with that camera. Then along came the digital age. The large picture on which the smaller pictures are super imposed was made that way two summers ago. I can't imagine what advances will come next, but hopefully, I'll be able to take what ever it is on a trip to the falls.
