Gullible Americans
There was a time in my life when I thought that this kind of meat was to die for. Four coronary bypasses and an endarterectomy later, plus my brother's stroke, convinced me that this kind of meat, --all meat, --is to die from. I used to be a true believer when it came to food. Red meat protein is good for you. Milk is good for you. Sadly, I keep learning that in America, we keep getting duped by advertising. Government agencies that were supposed to protect the American consumer have been compromised by the very industries they were supposed to control. In the meantime, the government has sold us a very expensive war, both in terms of battle deaths and of dollars. (Most people don't realize that Bush I convinced other nations to pay of Gulf War I. There were no battle deaths. The American people are paying for Gulf War II in dollars, death and the battle maimed.) We've learning every day that the FDA doesn't protect us from the drug industry. Drugs we were sold as the solution to our problems are actually the cause of other problems. Cow's milk is far from the perfect food. And while the body needs protein, most Americans get too much. Excess protein is thought by many to be the cause of osteoporosis. Thank goodness for the free press and the internet. There's a chance for finding the truth.
